Welina Bash: ʻOno food, island vibes at UH Hilo

Hundreds of University of Hawaii at Hilo and Hawaiʻi Community College students kicked off the fall semester with food, music and plenty of Aloha Friday energy at Welina Bash: Grindz & Vibes 2026.

The UH Hilo Library Lānai and Campus Center Dining Hall came alive with local food trucks and live performances by Media Music Hawaii and Ooklah The Moc. The night ended with a surprise performance by Hawaii roots reggae favorites The Green.
