VNR: New clinical building at UH law school holds dedication ceremony

WHAT: The new clinical building at the William S. Richardson School of Law was formally dedicated today, with a blessing and lei-untying ceremony.
WHO: In attendance were justices, legislators, prominent attorneys, UH leaders, and law school administrators, faculty, staff and students.
WHERE: UH law school, 2515 Dole Street, UH Mānoa campus
WHEN: Today, Friday, September 6, 2019, 3:30 p.m.
FACTS:
- The new $9.3 million building will serve as space for the growing clinical programs offered by law school faculty and students as part of course work for graduation and to prepare students for law practice.
- The building will house clinical service providing thousands of hours of free legal help annually to some of Hawaii’s most vulnerable people, including the elderly, youth, prisoners, veterans and families living at or near poverty levels.
- It will also provide much-needed space to develop students’ trial, practice and advocacy skills.
- The project broke ground in September 2016.
