Meetings slated for finalists for Dean of School of Hawaiian Knowledge

Three candidates for the position of Dean of the newly established Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge at UH Mānoa will be on campus during the period of April 28 to May 8 for interviews and public meetings.

The candidates and dates for meetings at Mānoa are:

· Jonathan Osorio, Ph.D. — Director and Professor, Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies. On campus April 28-30; public presentation forum, Monday, April 28, 3:00 - 4:30 pm

· Gary Hook, Ph.D., D.Sc.- Adjunct Professor, Victoria University of Wellington and business consultant in Australia and New Zealand. On campus May 5-6; public presentation forum, Monday, May 5, 3:00 — 4:30 pm

· Maenette Benham, Ed.D. - Professor, Department of Educational Administration, Michigan State University. On campus May 7-8; public presentation forum Wednesday, May 7, 3:00 — 4:30 pm

All public presentations will be in the Shidler College of Business, Room A-101, on the dates indicated above.

The Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge was created last year by merging the Hawaiian studies and language programs, and is the largest school of indigenous studies in the nation. Its establishment was a major step towards promoting the study of the Hawaiian language and culture, and preserving Hawai‘i‘s host culture.
