The University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) invites the public to its Fall Fair on Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. — noon at the Old Gym. There is no admission charge.

"This will be an excellent opportunity to meet some of the instructors who will be teaching our fall session and to watch a variety of demonstrations to get a true feel of what some of the classes are like," noted Marisa Miyashiro, a program coordinator at CCECS. "This is the first time that we are doing something like this and we hope that people take the opportunity to stop by and check it out."

Demonstrations include fencing, aikido, capoeira, tai chi and qigong, tap dancing, hand drumming and modern dancing. There will also be opportunities for students to speak with instructors teaching guitar, French, Korean language, and health and wellness. People can also peruse the diverse course offerings, get more information about all of the non-credit classes and workshops, give feedback on the kinds of classes that they would like to see offered, and much more.
