Library hosts Japan Knowledge Workshop with June Tateno

UH Mānoa Library’s Japan Collection announces the first Japan Knowledge Workshop with June Tateno from NetAdvance Inc.  Japan Knowledge provides easy access to Japanese language resources such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, full-text magazines, interactive maps, a video library, full-text of Toyo Bunko, and more. 

Titles include Kaisha Shikiho (The Japan Company Handbook), Joho • chishiki Imidas (Imidas: Multi-information dictionary), Gendai Yogo No Kiso Chishiki (Dictionary of current words and phrases), Nihon Jinmei Daijiten (Biographical dictionary), the Kodansha Encyclopedia of Japan, Dejitaru Daijisen (Digital Japanese Language Dictionary: Daijisen), Nihon Daihyakka Zensho (Encyclopedia Nipponica), to name a few.

The workshops will be held in Hamilton Library’s Science Technology Wing on the ground floor in Room A-156.  The following is the schedule for the workshops:

Basic Course:    February 18, 2010  

9:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m.       (Faculty/Staff Only)

1:00 p.m. ~ 3:00 p.m.          (Open to All UH)

 

Advanced Course:        February 19, 2010

9:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m.        (Open to All UH)

1:00 p.m. ~ 3:00 p.m.          (Faculty/Staff Only)
