Educational activities will be enlivened with music, races, games and prizes at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s Condom Fair 2011 on Monday, February 14, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Campus Center Mall. The event is sponsored by the Health Promotion Office at University Health Services. Approximately 2,000 students are expected to attend this year’s fair.

Condom Fair 2011 will feature free massages and educational activities; games such as a condom race and “Pin the Condom on Jack;” and music from KTUH and KCCN FM 100. Prizes and giveaways will include condoms, condom lollipops, lubricant, candy, and other fun Valentine’s Day items.  Event participants are Planned Parenthood, the Waikīkī Health Center, Blood Bank of Hawai‘i, Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, Waimanalo Health Center, UH Mānoa Women’s Center, UH Leisure Center and UH Mānoa’s Counseling & Development Center.

The purpose of the Condom Fair is to promote a healthier lifestyle through the appropriate and consistent use of condoms, healthy sexual decision-making, and good communication. The Condom Fair is not meant to promote sexual activity; however, for students who do choose to be sexually active, condoms are the safest way to protect against sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies. Condom Fair 2011 aims to educate students about healthy relationships in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
