Hawaiʻi Community College Office of Continuing Education and Training trained 40 island-wide staff from Aloha Security Inc., a local security firm on the Big Island, in eight hours on “Private Security Guard Training”.

"My vision is to have all of my guard staff be trained as professionals so they can become effective security officers for the Big Island and to comply with Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) Senate Bill No. 2165 'A Bill for an Act Relating to Private Guards,'" said Mark Lafita, owner of Aloha Security Inc.  David Heaukulani, training director of Security Solutions of Hawaiʻi, taught the class.

For additional information on the training, contact Debbie Shigehara at Hawaiʻi Community College, (808) 974-7531.
