Hawai'i Energy Policy Forum hosts third annual Hawai'i Clean Energy Day

The Hawai‘i Energy Policy Forum, a collaborative community and UH Mānoa program under the Social Sciences Public Policy Center, is sponsoring the third annual Hawai‘i Clean Energy Day on Friday, July 8, from 1-6 p.m. at the Laniakea YWCA Fuller Hall and Courtyard located at 1040 Richards Street. 

 

Under the theme “Investing in Hawai‘i’s Clean Energy Future: People and Money,” the forum is co-sponsored by the Hawaiian Electric Co.; Hawai‘i State Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism; Hawai‘i State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations; Blue Planet Foundation; and Think Tech Hawai‘i.

 

The afternoon will feature local speakers, including Governor Neil Abercrombie. Also, there will be panel discussions on public policies to advance clean energy and jobs and workers for clean energy, followed by a pau hana networking session, to inspire vigorous discussion on the next steps that Hawai‘i needs to take to achieve clean energy objectives.
