U.S. News & World Report released its 2014 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” ranking the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa 14th on its list of best undergraduate international business programs.

Shidler College of Business was tied with Michigan State University and ranked just ahead of the University of Washington, University of Texas at Austin, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of Virginia.

Other schools listed in the top 25 included USC, University of Michigan, UC Berkeley, New York University and University of Pennsylvania.

In the “Best Undergraduate Business Program” category, the College improved its showing from 141 last year to 119, which ranks the College in the top 25 percent of all AACSB accredited business schools in the U.S.

“We are extremely pleased to be recognized among the top business schools in international business,” said V. Vance Roley, dean of the Shidler College of Business. “The U.S. News international business category has become more and more competitive as business schools learn the value of this field in today’s global business environment. As one of the original pioneers in the development of an international business program with an Asia-Pacific focus, the College continues to integrate classroom learning with real-world experience.”

Established in 1949 as the College of Business Administration, the College was named in 2006 after alumnus Jay H. Shidler, founder and managing partner of The Shidler Group. The Shidler College of Business is renowned for its expertise in international management education and is consistently ranked among the nation's top graduate schools for international business by U.S. News. Long recognized for its Asia-Pacific focus, the College is a professional school offering a wide variety of degree, certificate and executive programs. The Shidler College of Business is the only graduate program in the State of Hawai‘i accredited by AACSB International.
