For the first time, the Department of Labor, Oahu WorkLinks and Hawaii Pacific Health (HPH) have partnered with Leeward Community College (Leeward CC) to develop and launch a training program with guaranteed job placement for the inaugural cohort. The program designed in 60 days to meet an urgent employment need in the Hawaii Healthcare Industry. The program launches on Monday, March 30. Participants in the first cohort, along with partner organizations will be on hand for a brief acknowledgment ceremony followed by a facilities tour, a meet and greet with program staff. Media representatives are invited to attend.

WHAT: Launch of new Patient Services Representatives training program

WHERE: Leeward CC Health Science Complex, DA Building, Lower Level

WHEN: Monday, March 30, 2015; 10:00am – 11:30am

Other Details:

  • Leeward CC developed a training course for Patient Services Representatives in 60-days to meet an urgent employment need in the Hawaii Healthcare Industry
  • The first cohort will gain direct employment within the HPH system.
  • Hawaii Pacific Health donated items to create a mock clinic or office within the classroom
  • Program meets the National Association of Healthcare Access Management industry standard for Certified Healthcare Access Associates. The National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) is the only national professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in the management of patient access services in all areas of the healthcare delivery system. Patient access services include: admissions, scheduling, registration, patient finance, guest relations, and other related services.
  • The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations is currently working on future partnerships with other Hawaii healthcare employers
