University of HawaiiWest Oahu Day Celebrates Education in the Leeward and Central Oahu Communities
University of HawaiʻiThe University of Hawaiʻi—West Oʻahu (UHWO) will celebrate its annual UH West Oʻahu Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 20. This event is free and open to the public.
With the theme, "A Celebration of Education: Past, Present and Future," UH West Oʻahu Day will focus on the Leeward and Central Oʻahu communities. Activities will include food booths featuring the Leeward Community College Culinary Arts, a Keiki ID booth courtesy of the Honolulu Police Department, craft vendors, a job fair, and a Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi blood drive.
Awards will be presented to outstanding UHWO students and to the winners of the Leeward area schools coloring contest. Community members can receive drop-in assistance from trained UWHO students who will help low income families with their tax returns as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program from 9 a.m. to noon.
