Lyon Arboretum to hold popular Spring Plant Sale

The Lyon Arboretum Spring Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the arboretum, 3860 Mānoa Road.  Admission is free. 

Various nurseries will be selling colorful ti varieties, Hawaiian plants including native ferns, fruit trees, anthuriums, orchids, heliconias, gingers, succulents, tillandsias and other bromeliads, carnivorous plants, herbs, vegetables, and many other plants for homes and gardens. 

Arboretum volunteers will sell jams and jellies made from local fruits as well as oshibana crafts, dried spring wreaths, lei (including haku lei) and leaf angels.  Hawaiian honey also will be available for purchase.

A free shuttle service to the arboretum has pick-up and drop-off points at the intersections of Poʻelua Street and Mānoa Road, and Nipo Street and Mānoa Road.

Lyon Arboretum, located at 3860 Mānoa Road, is open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  It is closed on Sundays and state holidays. Call (808) 988-0456.

Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5-acre rainforest botanical garden administered by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
