The University of Hawaiʻi Student Caucus, comprised of delegates from each of the 10 UH campuses and the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) at UH Mānoa, is partnering with the Honolulu Star-Advertiser to cover the cost of admission to an upcoming Career Expo for all UH students with valid ID cards. This is the Caucus' way of removing the barrier of cost and increasing access to the Career Expo for all UH students based on Oʻahu.

The Career Expo will take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Neal Blaisdell Center.

“There are multiple benefits for attending the Career Expo,” said Kepo'o Keli'ipa'akaua, Caucus Chair and a UH Mānoa graduate student.  “For students expecting to graduate in May, this is perfect timing to jump-start the job hunting. Continuing students have the opportunity to develop relationships and get a feel for the job market.”

There will be resources to assist students with perfecting their resumes and improving their interview skills. A few vendors will also be offering interviews onsite, so students are encouraged to come dressed in business attire. For students with some work experience, there will be a separate area called “The Corner Office,” where a list of management and executive positions will be available.

This opportunity is available for FREE to all UH students, thanks to the UH Student Caucus. Students are able to Bypass the Box Office and print out their free registration ticket in advance by visiting http://hawaiicareerexpo.com/registration-uh-students/

The Student Caucus is supporting a similar Career Expo on Hawaiʻi Island next month and is looking to provide these opportunities on Kauaʻi and Maui in the next academic year.
