WHAT:  UH Mānoa Los Angeles Accepted Student Reception, one of seven annual accepted student receptions held in California, Oregon, Arizona and Colorado

WHO:  Students accepted to UH Mānoa, their parents, UH Mānoa alumni from the region and representatives from the university including UH President David Lassner

WHEN:   March 31, 3-5:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time

WHERE:  Westdrift Hotel, Manhattan Beach, California

ADDITIONAL FACTS:

  • About 425 high school seniors and their families from the Los Angeles area met school representatives and learned more about UH Mānoaʻs array of academic and student life programs
  • The sessions cover topics including transitioning to college life, housing options, the registration process, travel opportunities and new student orientation.
  • UH Mānoa has received a record 19,000 undergraduate applications, a 33-percent jump over last year’s record number, which led the largest freshman class in the university's 111-year history
  • Area UH Mānoa alumni also attended as ambassadors to discuss the role the university played in their lives and career.
  • UH Mānoa admissions holds these accepted student receptions in Hawaiʻi and parts of the West Coast
