UH Mānoa women’s water polo sweeps Big West awards

Women’s water polo swept the Big West Awards, with Bernadette Doyle named Player of the Year and Ema Vernoux Freshman of the Year.

The Jack Bonham Award was presented to Lily Wahinekapu (women’s basketball), Jordan Wedderburn (women’s water polo) and Brayden Schager (football).

The Rainbow Wahine will make the program’s eight appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Silisteanu is in her third year as a student manager with the Rainbow Wahine water polo team.

The women’s water polo team capped an undefeated Big West season with a 14-4 win over Cal State Fullerton.

Jordan Wedderbur’s five-goal performance on March 22 earned her a second Big West Player of the Week award.

Bernadette Doyle ranks second on her team with 55 points, including 34 goals and 21 assists.
