| Description: | Die bunt geschmźckten Partner sitzen paarweise nebeneinander in einer Hźtte; im Hintergrund singen MŠnner Liebeslieder. Zu Beginn der etwa 5 Minuten dauernden TŠnze wiegt der Werbende Oberkšrper und Kopf. Dann wendet er sich seiner Partnerin zu, die sich ebenfalls zu wiegen beginnt. Es kommt zu Stirn- und Nasenreiben. Nach zweimaligem Nasenreiben verbeugen sich die Tanzpartner tief parallel zueinander, dann reiben sie wieder zweimal ihre Nasen und so fort in stetem Rhythmus, der nicht von der Musik bestimmt wird.The courtship dance of the Medlpa contains a stylized nose rubbing and contact of the cheeks. The participants, richly adorned, are sitting in couples side by side in a hut, in the background men are singing love-songs. At the beginning of the dances, which each have a length of about 5 minutes, the man sways his upper body and his head, then he turns to his female partner who also starts to sway. Forehead and nose rubbing take place. Afte a second nose rubbing the partners make a deep bow towards each other, then they rub their noses twice again, and so forth, in a steady rhythm not determined by the music. |
