Description: | In memory of Professor Dr Rudolph Poch, film from the Department of Anthropology of the University of Vienna. Photos and film shot between 1904 and 1906 by Professor Poch, text from a lecture by Poch on 19 January 1907 at the Berlin Society of Anthropology, Ethnology, and Prehistory. The film is of the people in their natural surroundings. The last shot on the film is a photo of the phonograph that Poch took to New Guinea, on which were made about 100 records of the native songs and speech. See also Neu-Guinea 1904-1906. |
