Description: | In 1971, Susan Cornwell encountered and filmed the Bedamini in Papua New Guinea, an aggressive people who practiced cannibalism. On her return twenty years later, she finds a people wearing T-shirts instead of nose bones and charging tourists for watching their tribal dances. The skillful intercutting of old and new footage dramatizes the effects of westernization. |
