Description:Nine-part series about Baruya village life, organization, and agriculture. Includes work on a new garden, making a scarecrow, a cassowary hunter's dance, part of a healing ceremony, and women feeding their pigs. Also shows the ritual building of the Chimya, the great ceremonial house used in initiation ceremonies for young boys. The preparations for and the rituals in the initiation ceremony are shown. Finally, a feast is held, and the great ceremonial house is destroyed. (Three segments on two cassettes)
