| Description: | In 2002, for the first time, the people of Satawal ordained one of their own as a priest. The ordination incorporated part of the traditional Pwo ceremony whereby young Satawalese were once initiated as master navigators. The revival of the Pwo as part of a Jesuit ordination is an occasion for rejoicing and controversy. |
