Description:This video recounts the evacuation of Rongelap Atoll by the Greenpeace vessel the Rainbow Warrior in 1985. The people of Rongelap had been seriously irradiated by nuclear test bombing on neighbouring Bikini Atoll during 1946-1958. Their pleas for relocation ignored for decades by the United States, the people from Rongelap were eventually resettled on an island segment of Kwajalein Atoll. Broadcast on TVNZÕs Tagata Pasifika program in 1986.
