| Description: | Frauen aus der Umgebung kommen mit Kanus nach Aibom, um hier auf dem Marktplatz ihr Sago gegen Tšpfe einzutauschen. Die beiden Parteien stehen zuerst in zwei langen Reihen einander gegenŸber, dann gehen die Besucher mit ihren Sagopaketen zu den Tšpferinnen und beginnen mit dem Tauschhandel.Aibom has extensive trade connections as a pottery village. At high water times women come from other villages in canoes to Aibom to exchange sago for pots. After the exchange partners have formed two rows facing one another - one row with pots, the other with packets of sago - the women with the sago go to those with the pots and offer it for exchange, usually silently. The visitors then return to their villages loaden with pots. |
