| Description: | Asin, ein 16jhriger Junge aus einem Nachbartal (Siferuk), ist mit Verwandten und Freunden zu Besuch nach Munggona gekommen, wo er vor einiger Zeit initiiert wurde. Der Besuch dient der zeremoniellen Abgeltung der Initiation. Er berreicht seinem damaligen Betreuer eine breite Stirnbinde aus Nassa-Schnecken. Als Gegengabe erhlt er Schweinefett.Accompanied by his relatives and friends a young man of sixteen has arrived for a visit from the neighbouring valley to Munggona, where he has been initiated a short time ago. The purpose of this visit therefore implies the ceremonial compensation for the initiation. As a gift the young man hands over a broad forehead band covered with thin slices of the shells of Nassa-snails to the man who had taken care of him during his initiation. As a return present he gets some pig's fat. |
