News

The News component is great to showcase specific news articles for your department.

1. Select "News" as the Row Type.
2. In the "News" group:
   1. Headline: Enter a headline to display above the news
   2. Article Type: Select whether the article is internal (using the news module within Cascade) or external (outside of Cascade)
      1. Internal:  Select the article in the Featured Article page chooser
      2. External: 
         1. Featured Image: Select a featured image for the article
         2. Alternative Text: Add alternative text for the featured image
         3. Featured Link: Enter the full URL to the featured article
         4. Label: Add the title of the featured article
         5. Description: Add a description for the featured article
      3. Add a new featured article by clicking the “+” sign at the top right corner. Remove featured articles by clicking the “x” sign at the top right corner. Articles can also be rearranged by dragging them around at the top right corner or using the navigation arrows.
   3. Choose how to add additional articles: select whether the articles should be inputted manually or pulled from an RSS feed
      1. Manual: 
         1. Article Type: Select whether the article is internal or external
            1. Internal: Select the article in Cascade using the Additional Article page chooser
            2. External: 
               1. Link: Enter the full URL to the article
               2. Title: Enter the title of the article
         2. Add additional articles by clicking the "+" sign at the top right corner. Remove articles by clicking the "x" sign at the top right corner. Articles can also be rearranged by dragging them around at the top right corner or using the navigation arrows.
      2. RSS Feed: Select the RSS feed block to pull articles from.
         
         1. Create RSS Feed Block
   4. Call to Action:
      1. Update the Call to Action link
   5. Click Preview Draft > Submit

It is recommended to setup auto-publishing for pages that have RSS feeds. This is because the page must be republished to show any changes in the RSS feed.
