Register for Hawaii Food Bank Pop-Up Food Distributions

In order to meet the growing need for food, the Hawaii Food Bank is deploying new methods of food distribution. The new Pop-Up Food Distribution days will allow for more efficient distribution.

Registration opens at 9 a.m. Friday prior to each distribution. Go to the Hawaii Foodbank’s website to register for your preferred date. You must then complete the registration form in its entirety. Your information will be used to identify you at the distribution. The name you input on the registration form must match the ID you present at the distribution. See below for more detailed rules and regulations.

Rules

  • Each vehicle may pick-up food for up to three (3) households.
  • For vehicles representing multiple households, an adult from each household must be present with a valid government-issued ID and confirmation ticket.
  • Please have your trunk or tailgate cleared so that food may be placed in safely and efficiently.
  • To minimize traffic and waiting times, please do not show up any earlier or later than your ticketed appointment time.

Hawaii Foodbanks

Hawaii Foodbank provides food so that no one in the state of Hawaiʻi goes hungry. They gather and distribute food through charitable agencies to those in need.

Hawaii Food Pantries (state-wide)

Food Pantry sites around the state. List of local congregations and community groups providing food distribution. Sites may define requisites – e.g. requires ID, serves Mōʻiliʻili area (96826), or requires an appointment for pick up. Some sites may be closed due to logistics and supply, please call the site for more information.

Manoa Food Pantry Open for Students

Food Vault Hawaii, the campus student pantry, is open by appointment for students in need of food or toiletries during their regular hours, Mondays 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursdays 12-4 p.m., and Fridays 2-6 p.m. However, they are running low on stock. They ask anyone who can donate non-perishable food or toiletries to do so to help students in need during this difficult time.

Pohkaina Food Pantry at Kapiʻolani Community College

Kapiʻolani Community College has partnered with Waikīkī Community Center. Open to the public – Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am-12pm by appointment only. Food supplies are limited. Make an appointment.

Kauaʻi Community College Food Pantry

‘Ono Mea ‘Ai, the Kaua’i CC Student Community Food Pantry, will be providing service to students on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Located Upstairs in Student Life (Waiʻaleʻale side). Call 808-245-8346 for more information or to schedule food pick-up.

Windward Community College Food Pantry

The Windward Community College Food Pantry is available to those who are in need. Students can make appointments by emailing or sacwcc@hawaii.edu or calling (808) 235-7395. There are also MREʻs (military-meals ready to eat) available. Donations will also be accepted as well at the Student Activity Center in Hale Akoakoa 232 during normal business hours.

No Kid Hungry

Hawaiʻi is one of the states that can access No Kid Hungry’s newly launched text hotline to provide information about emergency food distribution sites in communities where schools have been closed due to #COVID19.

Keiki Free Grab-and-Go Nānākuli (Waiʻanae Coast Comprehensive Health Center)

Waiʻanae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC) is offering free grab and go breakfasts and lunches to all keiki Monday-Friday.

HIDOE Offers Free Meals for Children (18 years or younger state-wide – Seamless Summer Option)

Hawaiʻi Department of Education (HIDOE) – Seamless Summer Option will provide student grab-and-go breakfast and lunch at select schools to children 18 years and under. Children must be present.

Nonprofits Offer Free Meals for Keiki (Oʻahu)

Central Oʻahu: Breakfast/Lunch offered from 10am to 12pm each weekday at Kamaile, Leihoku Waiʻanae and Mākaha elementary schools. Food pantries/Groceries are offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the four elementary schools. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the pantries will operate at the five other schools where the Department of Education is offering meals: Waiʻanae High, Waiʻanae Intermediate, Māili Elementary, Nānākuli High and Intermediate and Nānāikapono Elementary.

Townside: Takeout lunches for children through April 30 at Kūhiō Park Terrace Community Resource Center at 1485 Linapuni St. The meals are available 12-1 p.m. on weekdays, except for holidays. Palama Settlement is also offering free lunches to keiki from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays, from March 30 throughout the school closures at its facility at 810 North Vineyard Blvd.

Other takeout sites with meal pick up from 11:30am to 12:30pm at: Pūʻōhala Elementary School, Kalihi Valley Instructional Bike Exchange, Palolo Valley Homes, Nuuanu YMCA, Melemanu Recreation Center, Windward Nazarene Academy and INSPIRE Church in Mililani.

Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

SFMNP provides low-income seniors with eligible foods through farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture (CSA) programs. Hawaiʻi’s SFMNP offers eligible seniors $50 worth of coupons (10 coupons valued at $5 each) to obtain eligible foods without charge from participating farmers, farmers’ markets, and roadside stands that have been approved to accept SFMNP coupons. Coupons may be redeemed from participating vendors from April 1st – September 30th.

  • Eligibility: Must be at least 60 years old, be a Hawaii resident, and be income eligible (1 person = $26,603, 2 person $36,001).
