Regents Policy RP 9.208, Relocation Allowances Effective Date: Oct. 18, 2002 Prior Dates Amended: Apr. 20, 1961; Dec. 5, 1980; Oct. 31, 2014 (recodified) Review Date: August 2019 I. Purpose
To set forth policy on relocation allowances.
II. Definitions
No policy specific or unique definitions apply.
III. Board of Regents Policy
A. A relocation allowance may be provided to Board of Regents’ appointees to assist in defraying travel and transportation expenses associated with the relocation of the employee and dependents from the mainland, another island within the state or a foreign country to the location of permanent employment with the university. This policy is intended only for full-time board appointees in compensated positions.
B. The president shall develop implementing administrative policies and procedures to provide for reasonable relocation allowances, subject to the availability of funds, to board appointees where such allowances are in the best interest of the university. IV. Delegation of Authority
The president shall develop implementing administrative policies and procedures to provide for reasonable relocation allowances. See RP 9.208(B).
