Armenian mother and child

Here is a deported Armenian mother forced to walk over the heights of the Taurus Mountains. Her husband has probably been murdered. On her back she carries not only her baby, but all that she could take with her--a blanket and some wooden sticks. Often the Turks would invite Kurdish tribes in the mountains to attack these deportees or simply stand back while Kurds looted and raped them.
