UH Alert - UH Mānoa student reports being accosted by moped rider

At approximately 2:00 p.m. today, October 19, 2012, a UH Mānoa student reported to Campus Security that she was accosted by an unknown male as she walked down the access road below the Hale Wainani student residence toward lower campus.

The student said she first noticed the male sitting on a parked moped by the Hale Noelani Market.  As she walked to lower campus, he followed her on his moped and tried talking with her. The student said the man grabbed her wrist, but she pulled free and went over to a group of students nearby.

The moped rider then drove away. The student reported the incident to Campus Security.

The suspect is described as a male in his 20s, 5’8’ or 5’9”, 180 pounds, with long curly dreadlocks and a moustache, and wearing dirty long pants and a faded shirt.

UH Alert - Two offices at Bilger Hall report burglaries

According to UH Mānoa Campus Security, two offices at Bilger Hall were burglarized and computers were taken during the evening of October 18, 2012.

The discovery that door locks were pried open to gain entry at the Bilger offices was learned at 1 a.m. this morning during a regular Campus Security patrol. Office occupants were interviewed. The Honolulu Police Department is assisting with the investigation.

UH Alert - Burglaries reported at Saunders Hall

Campus Security discovered at 2 a.m. this morning, October 11, 2012, that four rooms in Saunders Hall had been burglarized. Door locks were pried open and iMac computers were taken.

Yesterday, October 2, 2012, UH Mānoa Campus Security learned of a possible sexual assault involving a student and a nonstudent perpetrator that occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, September 29, at a Student Housing residence hall.

A report was filed with the Honolulu Police Department.

Sex without consent is considered rape and is illegal. An individual under the influence of alcohol or other substances is unable to give consent.

UH Alert - Reminder to secure your valuables

In the month of September, Campus Security has received several reports of theft at Sinclair Library and Moore Hall.

This is a reminder to SECURE YOUR VALUABLES or take them with you even if leaving for a short period of time.

Two persons of interest with similar descriptions seen at both locations were reported:

Descriptions:
1) Male, 6'5", 180 lbs., 30's, short dirty blond hair, with a drawstring backpack
2) Male, 5'8", 160 lbs., 20's, brown hair
