Dr. Fukuda's research interests include theoretical and experimental syntax, lexical semantics, syntax-lexical semantics interface phenomena and their acquisition by different populations of speakers, and the syntax of the langauges in East Asia. He is currently serving as a series editor for Endangered and Lesser-Studied Languages and Dialects and an associate editor for the Journal Language and Linguistics. Additionally, he is also the faculty coordinator for the EATS lab, a virtual research lab at UHM for students and faculty members who approach theoretical and empirical issues in syntax and it interfaces with the other modules of grammar through experimental methods.
