Recognition of sustainability leadership for faculty and staff

We also wish to recognize the hard work of faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond to implement sustainability efforts at UH and in the community to formally recognize and acknowledge for their contributions.

The program will be administered by the UH System Office of Sustainability, which cultivates opportunities for hands-on learning and mentorship in sustainability leadership.

In keeping with the role of UH as a leader in innovation and a responsible steward of our ‘āina, this initiative supports those students inspired to solve problems and find answers to such questions as:

  • How can we express the values of mālama honua, aloha ʻāina,ʻimi ʻike and mauō, in our campus and community?
  • How can we achieve net zero status in terms of energy usage, and to reduce & offset the carbon footprint of my campus?
  • How do we steward our water resources, reduce waste, transform our transportation systems, and catalyze regeneration of our local food systems through our campuses?
  • How can our communities effectively respond to the challenges of climate change to thrive, flourish, and become more resilient?
  • How can we achieve net zero status in terms of energy usage, and to reduce & offset the carbon footprint of my campus?
