Maxine Burkett is a Professor of at the School of Law and a Global Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. She teaches Climate Change Law and Policy, Ocean and Coastal Law, Torts, and International Law. An expert in the law and policy of climate change, she has presented her work on climate justice throughout the globe and her work has been cited in numerous international and national news and policy outlets. Professor Burkett received her B.A. from Williams College and Exeter College, Oxford University, and received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
