Dr. Sayed M. Bateni received the B.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, in 2002, the M.S. degree from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, in 2011.
He served as a lecturer and postdoctoral scholar with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Water Resources Research Center at the University of Hawaii. His research interests include terrestrial remote sensing, data assimilation, and coupled land-atmosphere, and hydrological system behaviors.
