RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE NEW MASTER OF FINE ARTS (MFA) 
IN CREATIVE WRITING

 

WHEREAS, the Department of English requested approval for a New Provisional Degree, Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing on September 24, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, no university in Hawaiʻi offers an MFA in Creative Writing; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department has demonstrated potential demand for the degree; and

 

WHEREAS, no immediate new personnel resources and no additional operating costs are required for the degree; and

 

WHEREAS, the Graduate Council recommended the approval of the New Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing on November 12, 2024; therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the UH Mānoa Faculty Senate approves this proposal for the New Provisional Degree, Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing.
