Popcorn & Pedagogy 3: Restoring Information’s Body

July 31, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Mānoa Campus, Kuykendall 106 Events Room Add to Calendar

In this lecture, Professor of Anthropology of Science and Technology, Lucy Suchman sets up the project of “restoring a sense of materiality and labor when thinking about information artifacts”. She makes an argument for grounding design rhetoric and theories of technical practice in the historical and political arrangements in which design is constructed. What are the implications for how we conceptualize technology and design?
