Wireless Setup

A Laptop Computer
A Wireless PC Card (802.11b certified-See About Wireless Cards)
A Supported Web Browser (Required for authentication process.)
- PC Software (Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6; & Netscape 6.2.3 or 7.1)
- MAC Software (Firefox, Netscape 6.2.3 or 7.1, or Safari)
  Note: IE for Mac development ended in June 2003 and the authentication system upgrade planned for 8/31/06 will no longer support backward-compatibility with IE for Mac. Please see http://www.hawaii.edu/technews/item/elog/14058 for more information.
A Valid UH Username

The UH Manoa wireless network requires that you specify the "network name" and password in your configuration.

If you have a UH Username, the wireless "network name" and password can be found by logging in to the UH Account Management system at http://www.hawaii.edu/account. Once you log in to the Account Management system, look for the link titled "UHM Wireless Network Settings". Clicking on that link will give you the wireless network name and password.
Otherwise, if you are a visitor who has been sponsored through the Visitors Internet Access (VIA) for UH site please visit https://www.hawaii.edu/via/?action=display_activate to retrieve the wireless "network name" and password.
