The Archimedes Project has devoted more than a decade to creating special interfaces for people with diminished capacities due to disability and aging. Our research embraces user studies, creating new assistive technologies, and identifying applications of the technologies we create.
Our prior research activities are summarized at Project History. The core technology developed by the Archimedes Project is the Total Access System (TAS). Variations of the TAS have included the Visual TAS for blind computer users, and the Total Access Game Interface (TAGI) that makes video game consoles accessible to disabled players.
