Tobias is funny, treats his students very
fairly and always makes sure if we
understood the topic clear enough.

I think the Powerpoint slides are very
informative and clear. It was extremely
easy to review them later especially when
the major points are put in different colors.

attendance and seems passionate for
subject being taught.

the subject, and interact with the rest of the

14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor? |

Some changes I would suggest is just
adding a little more examples that relate
to us.
The class is great. The wording of the
syllabus and homework assignments though
can be confusing or long-winded for a non-
science major. I suggest having another
scientist look over the material and make
edits to the writing/wording.

more interactive parts but thats not too
major of a thing.
Maybe an opportunity for extra credit?

15. How did the instructor show concern for students? |

He let us know where we stand
after each exam and he also had
made some words of
encouragement and how we can
prepare better for next ones. He
also let us know that he was
available if we ever had questions
about the material in class.
He would always check up after every
presentation slide and ask if we have
any questions or if we clearly get it.
He always emailed and kept us
informed and would make sure I
was aware of everything going on
in the class
You could email him or you can
meet with him before class or
after.
Easily accommodating if students are
unable to complete assignments on time
or make it to class. Also very accessible
for help outside of the classroom
(responds quickly to E-mails).
He was patient with receiving
assignments and interactive when
teaching students.
If anyone wasn't getting the material, he'd
spend more time trying to explain it more to
try and help
He offers help and explains everything , if
you don't understand he'll figure out how
to represent it. His class is amazing.

Yes because he knows ocean
science well and it was a fun class
to be in overall. I enjoyed learning
about oceanography.

passionate about the topic, makes you
feel comfortable with asking questions
and getting some help after class and he
greatly shows concerns for his students.

Yes, because the subject is interesting
and learning it is pretty fun. There are
some fun demo parts and also a lot of
real-life examples that are used to
connect the class to the world and Hawaii
in particular.

Yes, he's laid back but the atmosphere in
there was really nice because of all the
student teacher interaction in there
Besides the fact his class is fun, It's also
relatable for anyone on the island. So yes i
would suggest him to everyone. one of the
best classes i had.

A really good teacher! I enjoyed his

Heâ??s an amazing professor, he
cares about his students
