Step 7: Final selection of the PI method(s) that will be implemented into practice.

During this step, participants will receive this E-mail message to start step 7.

Date: May 14 [due date 6 + 1 day]

Dear [project participants]:

As of May 13 [due date 6] you should have entered your proposed methods of performance improvement on the project web site [web site URL] for the MYQIP project HPV Immunization Rates In Adolescent Females. You can review your proposed methods of performance improvement and the performance improvement methods proposed by others. Based on this review, determine which one or two performance improvement methods would work best in your practice. These can be your originally proposed performance improvement methods, or any other performance improvement methods such as those posted by others. These must be entered on the MYQIP project web site is on May 27 [due date 7]. You will then have 4 weeks to implement these improvement methods into your practice and an additional 8 weeks for your practice to operate with these improvement methods in place. Following this period, you will repeat the data collection procedure that was done to collect the baseline data to see if the improvement methods have resulted in improvement. Each participant can choose different improvement methods since each practice is different. This will also permit all participants to see which improvement method worked better. At this point, the next step is for you to review performance improvement methods and enter one or two methods of performance improvement that you will implement into your practice as it relates to this data, on the MYQIP project web site May 27 [due date 7]. As your project community leader, I am obligated to confirm that all participants complete all program participation requirements according to the timeline in order to receive MOC-4 ABP credit. Please complete the entry of your review and reflection on the baseline data by May 27 [due date 7].
