Firefox 34 and later comes with SSL version 3.0 disabled by default, i.e. it is POODLE-proof.

Firefox 29 and later comes with a new Chrome-like user interface (Australis).

Firefox 19 and later comes with its own built-in PDF viewer. To disable the built-in PDF viewer and use Adobe Reader (or another PDF viewer), go to Menu icon > Gear icon (Options) > Applications panel. Follow the directions listed here.

Use Firefox 45 ESR (latest build) for web applications that require it. Use Firefox 48 (latest build) for all other web browsing.

Note: Google@UH apps (gmail, gcal, gdocs) are supported on the current version of Firefox, the version just preceding it and the latest ESR version. Firefox is on a rapid-release schedule with a new version released approximately every 6-8 weeks. Check for the most current version of Firefox here.

Note: 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 can be used to run Firefox 48. Firefox (32-bit) can be installed on 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows.
