A discussion of the changes and challenges digital technologies bring to journalism and a look at what's ahead -- moderated by Chad Blair, Civil Beat; with James Cave, the Offsetter and HuffPost; and Chloe Fox, HuffPost; and Brett Oppegaard, UHM Communications Department

Chad Blair has been a writer, editor, and teacher in Honolulu for more than 20 years. His job as reporter for Honolulu Civil Beat is to cover Hawaii, especially how political decisions impact people and communities. Chad has worked as a journalist for Pacific Business News, Hawaii Public Radio and Honolulu Weekly.

James Cave is an associate editor at HuffPost Hawaii and columnist at Honolulu Civil Beat, and also organizes arts-based events with the nonprofit arts collective Interisland Terminal.

Chloe Fox is the Editor of HuffPost Hawaii, a partnership of Civil Beat and The Huffington Post that launched in 2013. She is also a member of the Civil Beat Editorial Board. Previously, she has worked at Men's Vogue, Vogue, and The New Yorker.

Brett Oppegaard is an assistant professor at the UHM Communications Department teaching multimedia journalism with a focus on new digital media. Brett has many years of experience working for daily newspapers, during which he earned national, regional and state awards.
