Exhibition-Making Connections: Treasures from the University of Hawai'i Library

September 18, 2005 - November 10, 2005
Mānoa Campus, University of Hawai'i Art Gallery

Witness the riches of the primary research library in the state of Hawai'i with "Making Connections: Treasures from the University of Hawai'i Library." One of Hawai‘i's most enduring assets, Hamilton Library maintains and cares for rare and special collections in all fields of the humanities, social sciences, science, and technology. Recovering from the devastating flood in 2004, Hamilton Library unveils in this inaugural exhibition selections from its astonishing treasure trove of rare books, prints, historical documents, maps, posters, journals, letters written by Hawai‘i's monarchs, poignant messages from AJA servicemen during World War II, and much more. Contemplate some of the treasures that reflect the complex nature of our community and the areas of excellence within the University--especially relating to Hawai'i, the Pacific, and Asia.
