Exhibition highlights Crossings 2003: Korea/Hawai`i is an international arts event that commemorates the 100th anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States. It features the work of more than 50 contemporary Korean artists at numerous sites in Honolulu and on Maui in the fall of 2003. Many of the artists are recognized as international leaders in the field of contemporary art.
Artists featured at the University of Hawai‘i Gallery are Ahn Kyu-Chul, Cho Sung-Mook, Ham Kyung-Ah, Kim Jong Ku, Lee Yong Ku, Lee Yong-Baek, Noh Sang-Kyoon, Yun Dong-Koo. The artists will create installations that will explore issues related to global interaction and intercultural contrasts and relationships. To emphasize dialogue with students, artists, and the community, each will serve a residency at the university.
