Lead by Choice: A talk by Sheena Iyengar

March 14, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Art Auditorium Add to Calendar

Sheena Iyengar is perhaps the world’s foremost experts on choice. A social psychologist and professor of management at Columbia, she is the author of the award-winning The Art of Choosing, as well as scores of scholarly articles. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, and on CNN, PBS, and the BBC. Her TED talks have attracted more than 5 million views.

Iyengar’s seminal research focused on the psychology of decision-making, addressing how humans face challenges in a world where they are inundated with options. Her current research has expanded to examine how we construct our selves and social networks, and how we experience authenticity in an increasingly technological and uncertain world. Her lecture at UH will propose that reconceiving our choices can make for more meaningful lives.
