Return-to-Learn Following Sports-Related Concussion: Considerations for the SL

This workshop will highlight the issues that surround returning children to the classroom following a concussion and provide a return-to-learn protocol for safe reintegration into the academic setting. Assessment and treatment strategies, implementation of academic accommodations, and additional steps to support the student with protracted symptoms will be provided to guide teachers, school staff, and speech-language pathologists as they assist the child to be successful in returning to school demands. The workshop will be offered on-campus at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
