Tenth Annual HEPF Legislative Briefing on Clean Energy

The Hawaii Energy Policy Forum (HEPF) is briefing legislators and the public on the state of Hawaii’s clean energy. Subjects include Barrel Tax, Grid Modernization, Interisland Cable, Local Biofuels, Liquefied Natural Gas, and Transportation. The session is open to the public and media.

The 45-member HEPF, convened and staffed by the University of Hawaii at Manoa, is a unique experiment in inclusive, collaborative energy planning and policy making. The Forum brings together representatives from business, utilities, university, oil refineries, renewable energy companies, government, environmental organizations and the community, including large energy customers. HEPF uses discussion, compromise, and consensus to incorporate many different perspectives and the broadest possible experience into the design of a flexible, forward-looking energy strategy. Since 2005, HEPF annually briefs the Hawaii State Legislature and the public on the status of clean energy for Hawai‘i.
