How it Works
If you are a senior attending a Hawaiʻi public high school (except charter schools), you already qualify for one or more UH campuses based on your GPA:
Students with a high school GPA of 2.7 or higher
Are qualified for all 7 Community Colleges (Hawaiʻi CC, Honolulu CC, Kapiʻolani CC, Kauaʻi CC, Leeward CC, UH Maui College, and Windward CC), UH Hilo and UH West Oʻahu (Admission to UH Hilo or UH West Oʻahu is confirmed through student’s official transcript and eligibility requirements.)
Students with 2.69 GPA and below
Are qualified for all 7 UH Community College campuses (Hawaiʻi CC, Honolulu CC, Kapiʻolani CC, Kauaʻi CC, Leeward CC, UH Maui College, and Windward CC)

About
The Direct2UH initiative seeks to eliminate barriers that prevent students from enrolling in postsecondary education by streamlining the acceptance process for all Hawaiʻi public high school seniors to enroll at the University of Hawaiʻi campuses.
- Students who meet the following GPA requirements will be accepted to the following UH Campuses:
- 2.7 GPA: UH Hilo, UH West Oʻahu, all seven UH community college campuses
- 2.69 and below: all UH community college campuses
- Students will be directed to direct2uh.org to enter in their Name, HIDOE ID, Date of Birth and GPA to find out which campuses they are eligible for.
- Students' information will be securely matched and they will be notified which campuses they are accepted to.
- Students select their campus and major by completing a Direct2UH Campus Choice form to secure their spot.

Eligibility
- Class of 2026 Hawaiʻi public high school students (non-charter) are eligible for this program.
- Charter school students are currently not eligible for this program because their data cannot be transferred over to UH at this time. However, charter school students can apply directly to the UH campuses at applytoUH.org.
Go to direct2uh.org and enter in your Name, HIDOE ID, Date of Birth and GPA.
UH Mānoa is not included in Direct2UH this year. You can apply directly to UH Mānoa at manoa.hawaii.edu/admissions/.
Parent/guardian information is optional. We use this information to notify parents/guardians of information relevant to their role in your educational journey.
Yes, this special opportunity is only available to students in the Class of 2026 who graduate in May.
The deadline date is May 1, but please submit your Campus Choice form as soon as possible. This is a Fall only initiative - Direct2UH will not be available for Spring admissions.
Campus Choice Form
The HIDOE number is the 10-digit student identification number used by the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education. Please ask your high school if you are unable to locate it.
Please use a personal email address (such as Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.). Your high school email account will be deactivated after graduation, and using a personal account ensures you continue to receive important enrollment information from your selected campus.
No. You are able to submit your enrollment form for free!
Yes, once you choose a campus, you will be able to select any major on the list provided.
- If your GPA is 2.7 or higher, you may select up to three campuses: two four-year campuses (UH Hilo and UH West Oʻahu) and one community college.
- If your GPA is 2.69 or lower, you may select one community college.
You only need to choose one community college. As a UH Community College student, you’ll be able to register for classes at any of the UH Community Colleges without filling out another application.

To change your selection to a UH Community College, you can submit a Change of Home Institution form. Please go to the campus website for access to this form.
If you wish to change your UH 4-year campus choice, you will need to apply directly with the new campus if you have not already done so.
Yes, each campus will send you important information with next steps on financial aid, orientation, academic advising, and class registration after you submit your enrollment form.
