Michael A. Dahilig
After serving three years as the student regent, Michael A. Dahilig was re-appointed to a term as an at-large regent in 2009.
Dahilig’s volunteer leadership experience with the university includes a stint as president of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaii 2002–2003 and member with the UH Manoa Campus Center Board 2003–2005. In 2003 he was awarded with the UH Manoa Student Service and Leadership Distinction Award, and he received the Outstanding Youth award from the United Filipino Council of Hawaii in 2007.
Dahilig is active in the community, volunteering with the Sariling Gawa Youth Council. He also serves on the boards of the Hawaii Filipino Lawyers Association, National Federation of Filipino American Associations and Honolulu Filipino Junior Chamber of Commerce.
He is a deputy county attorney with the County of Kauai focusing on planning and land use matters. Dahilig prevously served as law clerk with the Hon. Randal G. B. Valenciano of the Fifth Circuit Court of the State of Hawaii.
Dahilig received his juris doctor from the William S. Richardson School of Law in 2006 and has completed master's coursework in UH Manos’s Urban and Regional Planning program. He holds a BS with honors in geology and geophysics from UH Manoa.
