Seth Holmes: Narrating Life Stories: Displacement and Migration

Seth M. Holmes, PhD, MD, is a cultural anthropologist and physician who works on social hierarchies, health inequities, and the ways in which such asymmetries are naturalized and resisted in the contexts of transnational im/migration, agro-food systems, and health care. His book, Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies:Migrant Farmworkers in the United States, received numerous awards in anthropology, sociology, geography and Latin American studies, including the Margaret Mead Award. He will be presenting on his work with migrant farm laborers as they navigate the southern U.S. border.
