Bay Area alumni establish scholarship, plan lūʻau

Spearheaded by new board members and officers, the UHAA–San Francisco Bay Area Chapter plans events throughout the area, including fundraising activities to support its annual $3,000 scholarship for a fall 2010 incoming University of Hawaiʻi student.

The chapter lūʻau and scholarship fundraiser is scheduled June 13, noon–3 p.m., at the William Walker Recreation Center, 650 Shell Blvd., Foster City, Calif. Join the chapter in honoring the Bay Area high school graduate who will attend UH in fall 2010. Proceeds from the 2010 lūʻau will fund a scholarship next year. Cost is $45 for adults, $25 for children age 4–12, free for children 3 and under; register online.
