This preshow panel provides a larger political context for the devised theatre production "Smile, You're Under Surveillance!" (Kennedy Theatre, 7:30pm). David Goldberg (American Studies/UHM), James Harding (Theatre, Dance & Performance Studies/University of Maryland), Elise Morrison (Performance Studies/Texas A&M), and Markus Wessendorf (Theatre & Dance/UHM) will discuss strategies of resistance for performance and activism to not be outperformed by the increasingly sophisticated technologies of surveillance.
